On-Farm Assessment

The Potato Sustainability Alliance conducts an annual on-farm assessment to measure, benchmark, and communicate the impact of beneficial management practices implemented across the North American potato industry.

Growers from the U.S. and Canada are invited to participate at no cost, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and helping shape industry-wide understanding of what sustainable potato production looks like today.

2025 Assessment Timeline and Participation

Grower participants receive a community benchmark report with insights from other growers in their same region (west, midwest, or east), helping identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement.

Growers can choose to share their insights with participating PSA Processor and Fresh Marketer members, known as aggregators. Their aggregated insights support supply chain reporting and help inform sustainability initiatives.

Assessments submitted outside the data capture period (October 1 – December 19) will not be accepted. Enroll in the PSA Program today to receive essential information, reminders, and updated resources for completing the on-farm assessment this year.

Assessment Resources

The assessment is conducted using the Sustainable Outcomes in Agriculture (SOA) Standard, delivered through the Cropwise™ Sustainability app. This approach provides a credible, consistent framework aligned with global benchmarks, while being customized by PSA for the potato industry to streamline data collection and enable transparent, secure sharing with participating processor and fresh marketer members.
