PSA Position Papers

Working together to provide industry-informed resources

As the Potato Sustainability Alliance (PSA) continues to define, measure, and report on the sustainability of potato production in North America, we are publishing a series of position papers on key topics relevant to our mission.

These papers are designed to:

Clarify PSA’s perspective on emerging sustainability concepts and practices
Provide practical context for growers, processors, buyers, and industry partners
Align the PSA Program with broader industry, scientific, and policy discussions

Regenerative Agriculture

Each position paper is developed with input from PSA members, technical advisors, and subject matter experts, and is intended as a resource to support informed decision-making across the potato value chain.

This paper addresses the concept of regenerative agriculture and outlines PSA’s perspective on its relevance, application, and alignment with the PSA Program. It explores how regenerative principles intersect with current potato production practices, how they can be measured within the PSA framework, and how PSA will continue to engage with this evolving concept.
